She nodded at Fischer's suggestion.
"Not a bad idea," she said, a thoughtful expression on her face. "I'm wondering--if we can get the frigate personnel onboard without our trickery being discovered--if I should activate an alarm of an incoming attack. It would justify us taking the Okinawa out of the shipyard--you know, to respond to the 'threat'--as it would make Cerberus look outward for it rather than looking too closely at us.
"If they see through our facade, we would still be dealing with a contingent of their troops, but if they think they're under attack, they're not going to stop us from boarding the ship; in fact, they may even assist us in doing so."

"they may even assist us in doing so," the asari suggested.
Maelstrom shook his head. "They're the type to get paranoid under attack. It might be a good idea once everyone is already on the ship, to distract the rest of their security from us, but not as a means to get onto the ship. Too many ways for that to go bad... Such as requesting a retinal scan from you to get past a secure point during a lock down."

“Niiice!” Eric agreed with the asari engineer. “Get ‘em ta help load th’ gun we shoot ‘em with."
The man in Collector armor disagreed. "They're the type to get paranoid under attack. It might be a good idea once everyone is already on the ship, to distract the rest of their security from us, but not as a means to get onto the ship. Too many ways for that to go bad... Such as requesting a retinal scan from you to get past a secure point during a lock down."
Eric offered another idea, picking up on his friend's hint at the enemy's psychology. "When Cerberus does catch on to us, why stop with false alarms? We should be able to hack into security feeds and PA systems. Feed ‘em bogus data. Maybe even some…restricted material…”
He huffed and shook his head in recollection of the last two times this tactic was employed: once by the geth aboard the late starship Valiant, the other a misinterpretation by Maelstrom’s VI during an attack by hired hitmen.
“Think about it. Guys workin’ long hours at th’ docks for crap pay n’ benefits. Bored security guards who haven’t seen action in weeks, if ever. If we can trip ‘em up for even a second, some might shake it off but others will stumble and that could domino out to the whole operation.”
The senior N7 snorted again. “Trust me… it can work… especially if they know ‘em by heart…”

Joe laughed, knowing exactly what Lysander was referring to.
"And people say I'm twisted!" he said, sticking a hand out to be fist bumped by the senior N7.

Eric returned the fist bump. "Unconventional problems call for unconventional solutions. But ratcheting up that paranoia of theirs to the point where they can't trust their hardware or even reality gives us an edge. And we can use it to cut the Okinawa free for ourselves."

It took Maelstrom a moment to grasp Lysander's meaning, but when he did, he could only manage to cover his eyes with one of his hands, as he felt an intense heat in his cheeks.

[GM Note]
It feels like we've pretty much reached a consensus on the plan. Unless anyone wants to bring up any big revisions, I suggest we move forward with this into Chapter 19. I intend to bring up Chapter 20 no later than Monday (it will depend a but on how people are RPing in this chapter and the next- basically if the plan seems firm).
On a separate note, nice start to things, guys.

Joe laughed at the biotic's reaction.
"Come on Mal, do you really think the two of us would forget something like that?" he said. "Oh no, something like that has an INFINITE shelf life!"
