"The reason is quite simple," the drell replied, completely unphased. "You are going up against one of the most finely honed pirate bands in the galaxy, and your primary objective is technological in nature. One always strives to complete a mission without casualties. That is far from certain, though. You all know the grim reality of the profession."
Shifting his stance, he added, "Further, one person cannot be in multiple places at once. Having an additional technology expert increases your team's operational flexibility."

Izahm nods satisfied with the answer for now, "That was my only question." 'Still though I wonder just how good he is,' he thinks watching the Quarian carefully while also focusing on Feron.

"Now that that issue is resolved, let's get back to the job," Joe said. "Does the Broker have any intel on the layout of the site?"

"We do have some information. We are refining our data to provide you with the most detailed map possible prior to leaving. What I can tell you now is that the dig site is located in a canyon between two mountains. There are several pre-fabricated living units and a large laboratory on-site, as well as a large landing pad. There are two ground to air emplacements at the site. We are currently uncertain of the status of any of the structures. We expect to have this information to you prior to launch."

"Place sounds more tricked out than Barce," commented Eric. "Alright - you get us that intel and we'll get you the scientists... and your data."

Thrak grunted. "Some snipers would be nice."

"Don't worry, there probably are," Joe said. "They're just working for the other side.
"Now, if I was a smart pirate leader, I wouldn't have all of my forces on the ground," he continued. "I'd have some ships in orbit to be the first line of defense against any competition or law enforcement that shows up. Plus these are scientists I'm in charge of, not experienced fighters, so that frees up some more of my men. I'd have some anti-aircraft turrets on my high points, along with some snipers to pick off anyone who tries to escape.
"We're going to have to move fast to achieve the objectives, because we don't know what these pirates will do once they discover us," he said. "They might try to take the tech and hostages with them, or they might just get rid of them all.
"The Okinawa has stealth capabilities, so we can sneak past whatever the pirates have in orbit," he said. "That will get us on the ground, then we can use shuttles to get closer and then just walk the rest of the way in. First thing we'll need to target will be comms obviously, followed by the turrets, snipers and any ships they have groundside.
"But we also have to assume the ships in orbit will get wind of what's going on," he said, continuing to think out loud. "The Okinawa can keep them busy, but at some point it will have to come in for extraction and that's when we'll be most vulnerable."
He looked at the others.
"Okay, I am not liking the name of the ship, who's all for renaming it?" he asked.

Izahm raises his hand at Joes inquiry, "I am, seems too standard to leave it at Okinawa," then turns to Thrak and says, "You got a sniper right here," he then pats the Widow sticking over his right shoulder, "a damn good one too. Just because I got my blades doesn't mean I fight up close only."

Rula'an perks up at the big humans question, "I thought all human frigate class ships were named after important historical battles of your species. Why change it it seems more like a badge of honor remembering your legacy to me" he says, "There are even Quarian captains who refuse to change their ship name instead wearing it as a badge of pride and honor. Is this not the same?"

Maelstrom could not hold his tongue. "It's not an Alliance military ship. The bastards who built it have no right to lay claim to that tradition."
"We're turning it to yet another purpose. It should have a new name."

Rula'an's eyes widen at the black armored mans outburst but he remains calm as he says, "I do not know much about Cerberus but I do know that they were once Alliance military. Special black ops division. However I will question this topic further," with that he returns to working out simulations on his Omni-tool while fine tuning his defense drones custom and complex coding.

It had taken her a few moments to decide on her course of action, but Emily finally raised her hand. She knew Maelstrom wanted her to stay under the radar, but this was an important opportunity.
"Not to interrupt, and I know I'm new to the team, but I'm a trained infiltrator. Sniping skills included."
She knew Maelstrom would give her he'll later, but the drink still in her hand had been in part responsible for another plan she had decided it was time to implement later.

Joe looked over at Emily for a moment, surprised she had said anything.
He then turned to the group and said, "I say we name her Tyr. For those of you who don't know, it's the name of a human god who is the patron of war and justice."
He grinned.
"Don't tell me that isn't what we do, waging righteous war on the wicked," he said.

Naetilia's mandibles twitched.
"That may be what we do, Fischer, but to name ourselves after a god is hubris," she said. "If justice is our intent, then that is what we should name the ship."

"Personally, I've never understood the point of naming a ship, other than to tell it apart from every other ship traversing the galaxy," Geneenh said. "Besides, ships are so often modified to suit their owner's tastes that hardly any ship could be confused for another. And isn't it a human belief that it is bad luck to rename a ship anyway?"

"We could name it Xiphos" Izahm says, "It's the shortsword carried by Ancient Greek Spartans. They were some of the greatest warriors in our history. Their strength came from their unity. Which is were I think our strengths lie. Our ability to work together is why we can make through most challenges," he then smiles before continuing, "Plus our frigate is a small ship but she packs a punch just like the Xiphos shortsword."

"We could give that glowy-eyed bastard the middle finger and call it, 'The Illusive Marauder,'" Maelstrom suggested. "'The Ghost,' is also fitting."
Knowing most people disliked his names for things, he added, "Aside from those, I like 'Tyr' best. Maybe 'Tyr's Hand.'"

Thrak considered himself a master of nicknames, so he could not very well allow the discussion of what to rename the ship pass him by. "She's built for stealth and has some impressive teeth to boot. Could call her 'Silencer.'"

Eric snickered at his seat.
"You wanna give that 'glowy-eyed bastard' th' middle finger, Mal? You could just call the ship 'Middle Finger!' Bad luck or no, we can vote on a name after we've hammered out a game plan," He waved his hand over his head. "By the way, expert sniper as well."

Izahm smiled at Lysander's words and says, "On the game plan front I'm happy to announce my new shuttle is on its way. It's completely rebuilt for stealth so we can use it however we need to." 'It'll be interesting to see their reactions to the new one. The previous shuttle was quite unique,' Izahm thinks still smiling, 'This one's gonna be even more so.'
