"Hence why I asked first instead of arbitrarily locking it in," Izahm says nodding to Maelstrom, "And I don't think either of our shuttles can do anything to a frigate. But I agree we need a plan first I was just offering to back him up."
"You always did leap before you looked," Lori'ar says shaking his head, "Let the experienced ones plan first then you can make offers."
Izahm smirks but nods, "Alright I'll wait and see."

Thrak grunted. "I agree with Smiley. Not where Junior is needed." Squinting at the display, he said, "Standard tactics in this situation are for infiltrators to plant charges on grounded ships before fighting breaks out. Take them out early, before they're airborne."
Thrak shrugged. "Best done with a distraction. Not sure about those towers, though."

"Maelstrom is right, we have to deal with that satellite first or this mission is over before it begins," Geneenh said. "Since we have stealth ships, getting past it on entry isn't the problem--that will come once the pirates discover us. They can then use it to call for support and crush us.
"We can't destroy it, that's a clear signal someone is coming," she continued. "We can't jam it either, that's another dead giveaway. I say we hijack it and its comm systems. That way we control the information going in and coming out.
"That should get us onto the planet, but that still leaves the AA towers and dropships," she said. "If we go with Thrak's idea about using infiltrators to plant charges, that will take care of the dropships, though that still leaves the towers."

"Okay, let's deal with the elephant in the room," Joe said. "We got only one dedicated infiltrator on the team."
He looked over at Emily, this time with cool professionalism.
"Time to put your money where your mouth is," he said to her.

"I can sneak in and plant charges," she said, looking at the landscape. "A lot of that vegetation is tall enough to combat crawl through, and I can cloak when I get closer. What I can't do is be in two places at one or go undertected forever in the thick of camp."
"I believe Izahm can cloak too," she added, looking at his armor. "I'd be more effective working in concert with another. That way, we can take out guards, to cover ground more quickly and plant charges without being seen."

"What about launched Praetorian spikes for the towers?" Maelstrom asked Lysander, thinking back to past missions. "Or maybe something else you could whip up?"

"I may not be an infiltrator in the strictest sense of the word, but I've broken into a few places that had high levels of security...or at least thought they did," Geneenh said. "Besides, I was thinking about hacking into the turrets and reconfiguring their targeting parameters to shoot at the pirate ships instead of ours."

"I can definitely assist Emily on the ground," Izahm says, "The problem again is the towers. Neither of us can do both towers or all the dropships alone. Though I may actually be able to do the dropships alone. My cloak has a high duration." Izahm thinks hard looking at the terrain.

"If we go with the hacking idea, then we have enough people," Geneenh said, looking over at Rula'an. "Though there is still the matter of actually getting to them. The elevation is pretty steep, we'll probably have to use climbing equipment."

Rula'an looks up at Geneenh's words and says, "I can handle a bit of climbing," he then points to the satellite, "Should we both handle the satellite or just one of us? Also once the fighting actually starts I can focus on disrupting their systems from afar using the turrets hard connection."

Emily bristled visibly at Izahm's suggestion that he could do it himself. "And a lot of good your long duration cloak does your charges. Something powerful enough to take out a drop ship or frigate won't be small. Easily spotted. If you're opening hatches to place them in a hidden place, that's a lot of noise and moving pieces not covered by your cloak, all while you're occupied."
Folding her arms, she said, "Of course, two could handle that easily enough."

"Not a bad idea," Geneenh said to the quarian. "I would say try to hack into their security systems and then turn them against their masters, just like their turrets.
"Though if you're going to stay there, I think it would be best if someone stayed up there with you to watch your back."

Izahm notices the change in Emily's posture and responds, "If I move carefully I can but it was just a suggestion and I said I could do it not that I would. I still prefer two. Besides you probably have better expertise with planting explosives than me."

"I volunteer to charge right into the middle of it," Thrak laughed. Looking at Lysander and jabbing a finger at him, Thrak said, "Don't you dare put me on babysitting duty again."

Rula'an smirks unseen as he points to his defense drone, "I have this one and one other to watch my back. But another won't hurt. I'd prefer someone who is an excellent shot and good at sniping. I'm not an excellent shot myself and I don't have any ling ranged weapons."

"Rules me out," Maelstrom said, holding up his hands. "I'm not that good of a sniper, and my biotics aren't that precise at long range."
Eyes flicking to Emily only for a moment, he added, "And I think it would be good to have someone back up the infiltrators after hell breaks out."

Joe looked over at Lysander and said, "Pops, I'm thinking that should be you.
"Here's how I see it," he said, stepping up to the map overlay. "First we take out the satellite, thanks to our two techies. Then we send in an infiltration team to take out the towers: Emily, Izahm, Geneenh, Rula'an."
"Those towers have got to get taken out if we're going to use the shuttles to extract the hostages," he continued. "Otherwise it's about a one-klick walk over steep terrain to the caves while fighting off the pirates, and who knows what condition the hostages will be in?
"Then we got the extraction team," he said. "Since we don't know what condition the hostages are going to be in, obviously we got the doc coming along to patch up anyone who's hurt. They're going to be defenseless, so we're going to need our heavy hitters protecting them: me, Thrak, Ghorith and Xan.
"And finally there's the research the Broker wants," he continued. "Rula'an will be staying back to run things on the tech side of the house, so that leaves Geneenh. You're going to need someone to watch your back, and I'm thinking Mal.
He looked over at the biotic and said, "I'm thinking you accompany the infiltration team on their initial push and then once we take the towers, you go with Geneenh while she retrieves the data and Emily and Izahm take out the drop ships and frigate."
He looked back at Lysander and said, "That accounts for everyone but you, Pops. I figure you stay with Rula'an not only to watch his back but also provide sniper overwatch and overall mission control."
He stepped back and said, "Okay, there's my bright idea for the day, let's hear what the rest of you got to say about it."

"There is one other matter," Ghorith said, standing up.
"I am a bounty hunter by profession," he said. "When I was contacted by the Broker, I had just acquired a new target, a human named Darion Barratt."
He tapped his a few controls on his omnitool, and it projected the face of a man who looked more suited to academia: high forehead, thin hair and glasses.
"When the Broker contacted me, I was told that Darion had recently joined Fortune's Hand and I was asked if I would join you rather than working against you," he continued. "He is a hacker of some skill, probably brought in to acquire the data the Broker wants. He...also prefers the company of children...in a sexual manner.
"I know this will be given a low priority when given our other objectives, but it would be nice if I could catch him."

Geneenh's lips curled in distaste.
"I've heard of him," she said. "Even though he is a member of short-lived race, he has some skill. And his choice of...partners...is equally well-known in the circles I run in."
She looked over the batarian.
"Pray to your gods you find him before I do," she said. "Because if I do, there isn't going to be enough left of him for you to collect on."
