The cloaking device on Iskra’s suit activated as soon as Esteban was done speaking to her, the occasional glimmer the only indication to where she was.
Light footed as she ran towards the high ground, the young doctor was glad to be getting out of the front line. She knew her strengths were not in being a soldier but being a shadow instead. At these numbers, it didn’t matter how dark it was, the odds were against her if she approached it her way.
Thanks to the lower gravity, climbing the steep rock face was fairly easy. A climb of that magnitude on Rakhana would’ve taken her twice the time and would’ve probably had less footholds. Iskra pulled herself up onto a small ledge, hidden from the observational post by a cluster of rocks. High enough to see the battlefield but not so far should someone need medical attention that they’d have to wait long.
Decompressing the Widow off her back, Iskra moved into position, loading the first round into the chamber before setting her scope on the entrance to the base.
“I am in position, will give the signal as soon as I see movement.”

"Got it covered." Cruendi'has called out as he set off into the ruins.
Eric sighed. Not exactly who I had in mind, but okay he thought, thinking Meldom and his personal cloaking device would have been better suited.
Now three mercenaries were braving the relative unknown of the dig site, going where Esteban Bridges had no chance to tread. The other asari on the team, Kai, offered to keep watch over the team's rear. Meldom preffered the generators be shut off entirely, uncertain whether an overload or explosion would compromise the integrity of the site as well as impact the enemy. Shala was awaiting orders from Esteban, wondering if he would follow Eric's lead. Suddenly Esteban spoke up over the comms and outlined a plan; for the first time since the operation began its financier was finally pulling some rank.
"We need to protect the entrance to the place. Iskra, I want sniper cover. Find the best position that'll keep us all covered. I think Meldom is right. There are too many unknown variables. It's too difficult to say what would happen if we overloaded the generators. Shala and I will be following Meldom's suggestion, shut down the generators. I suggest getting a coordinated assault, bait the Collectors out. I'll jam the signal to prevent any distress calls. The rest can create a killzone. The sooner we take care of the problem, the sooner we can get to the digsite and depart."
Eric glanced over at River and then back to the site map in his omnitool before transmitting his approval, smirking. "That'll do, fearless leader. That'll do... it's all we can do for now. It's up to our three musketeers inside to shake 'em up and draw 'em out. Let's hope fortune really does favor the bold."

As the Collector slumped to the ground, it's final impact registering as a muffled "thud" by his suit's emulators, Maelstrom kept his eye out for any other Collectors. The others were talking about their strategies still. He found it odd that the batarian, a member of team Zeus, was coming down into the ruins. Not that the help would be unwelcome; he just feared it might compromise their control of the turrets, should a stray Collector find its bay back there. No one else seemed to much care, though, so he carried on with other concerns.
After several seconds passed with nothing but the team's chatter, Maelstrom decided his tactic has been as effective as desired. Coming up behind has left the Collector unaware and unable to signal its location and request backup. Firing from such extreme close range had made it so most of the light given off by the muzzle flash of his SMG was blocked either by the Collector's body or his own, minimizing the visual signs of the attack.
He released a breath he had not been aware he was holding. Again, he started winding his way through the ruins.

As Ressi takes point, her image ripples and vanishes as she moves forward through the desolate dig site, swiftly checking corners just in front of Maelstrom and Cruendi'has. She isn't sure if Meldom has joined them yet, as he indicated he might, or if he would be better suited to covering them as a sniper.
She relayed in secure bursts the locations of any enemies she found, instead of being omni-directional they were directed to Maelstrom's omni-tool, to send to the others on the team. This was to prevent the situation of broadcasting information in their Direct proximity, or through them, where it was a lot more likely to be detected, and more difficult to suppress by any conventional communications dampening.

Maelstrom's HUD indicated data incoming to him omni-tool. Rather than activate the device and risk its glow attracting unwanted attention, he pressed a button on the gauntlet of his armor that displayed the data in a small corner of the helmet's display. It appeared to be data on the location of Collectors, sent by Resindra. His omni-tool would not automatically distribute the data, and he could not afford to stop and keep relaying it to the others. He gritted his teeth, as he considered his only other option.
After a brief moment's consideration, which only felt like an eternity, he pressed a button on the side of his helmet which switched his audio output from a channel to the team to a secure channel to the Vengeance. "Emily, automatically access all incoming data to my omni-tool from Resindra. Distribute to all friendlies in secure bursts, include an opt-out function to the updates, so that anyone not taking part in the Tartarus assault can cease receiving the updates so they are not distracted by irrelevant data."
He knew it was within the VI's capabilities, so he did not wait for confirmation before switching back over to the main channel. Consciously, he knew the likelihood of the secure bursts giving away the ship's position were astronomically small, but he still did not like putting his home at risk.

Kai fans out opposite Eric, that knowing smirk splayed across her face. She holds the shotgun just like anyone else would hold a pistol, and doesn't seem to be bothered by the idea of mixing it up a bit. The Asari is obviously following Eric's lead, mirroring his movements just to keep both sides of the close-bottleneck covered. Kai hunkers down near a bit of flotsam just big enough to hide her form, ready to pop out when it's time to jack-in-the-box.

[GM Post: 2nd Wave - Round One]
Dig Site: 8 Collectors at dig site. 7 Mooks. 1 Miniboss (still not seen). The dig site is a fairly complex area, the solid drab metallic outcroppings providing the perfect cover for a firefight. Whatever the metal is, it is resisting all initial scans from your omnitool. The remaining Collectors are putting up a token resistance, attempting to fight back. Your character can kill one mook per round, but your shield will take a hit (or armor if you do not have shields).
Collector Outpost: 25 Collectors at the Collector Outpost. Classified 25 Mooks. - The four generators can be shut off this round easily. - Round One is the only round that you have free attacks on the 25 mooks. At the end of Round One, one of the surviving Collectors at the Dig Site will alert the 25 Collector within. - The Outpost is simply designed. One entrance into a giant hall.

It was difficult to get a bead on any of them. They were scattered wide across the area, and they all had cover. She would need to make her first shot count.
And so she did. Taking position across the dig site from the others she left stealth and laid on a blast into the neck of the nearest collector with her shotgun, knocking it back several feet into a few other Collectors. They opened fire at her as she rolled in to cover. Her shields had taken a minor hit.
"Could someone aim the turret at the outpost right about now? It's going to take a while to clear this place, they'll probably alert the others."
She prepared to enter stealth and adopt a new strike position.

Based on what Emily reported, Maelstrom was close to one of the Collectors. He gripped the grenade tightly in his left hand, SMG at the ready in his right. Maelstrom rounded the corner quickly, finding the Collector several dozen yards away, rushing towards the center of the dig site. If he was right, based on the data sent to his HUD, it was heading towards Resindra.
Without a moment's hesitation, he threw his right elbow in the direction of the creature's head, a corresponding biotic attack sending the insectoid alien crashing into on of the metal outcroppings, the worn remnants of the corner of a room. It shook it's head, trying to shake off the daze the blow had left it in. Without hesitation, Maelstrom depressed the three activation buttons on the grenade, started a silent count, and threw it towards the creature, adding a biotic push for some extra velocity. The Collector got a shot off, grazing Maelstrom's shields, which withstood the attack with little strain. The grenade struck the Collector squarely in the center of the face. Maelstrom was expecting a delay after it impacted the target, some kind of timed detonation, but instead it erupted in a brilliant flash that his HUD interpreted as a biotic detonation. Detonation on impact. My kind of explosive.
The ancient metal walls were completely unscathed, remarkable given that the Collector's corpse was barely recognizable.
Worth picking up some more if I come across them, he decided.
For a moment, he weighed his options between using the SMG and his biotics or his assault rifle. He decided on the SMG before heading back the direction of Resindra. His eyes flicked to the shield indicator in his helmet, checking to make sure his shields were fully regenerated. Using shields rather than barriers for defense let him focus all of his biotic power on the offensive. If the other Collectors were heading towards the asari, she would be in need of backup. That's why he always preferred to take out lone enemies until all that was left were the groups. That way, they received no backups, and there was less chance of someone sneaking up behind him.
(GM provided the details of the grenade function and resilience of the walls.)

River bit her lip nervously as she glanced back at the dig entrance. Her grip tightening around her Mantis. The uneasiness she had been feeling before was coming back in full force, making her stomach with nervousness. She didn't like the idea of sitting around, hoping for the best while the rest of her team was doing the heavy lifting. But she didn't have much say in the matter so the only thing she could do is reload and wait.
She took out her Talon pistol that had her holstered to her thigh, keeping it close just in case. Her energy katanas, her go-to weapon of choice in close quarter combat, flickered to life on her back. If any Collectors got within a foot of her, she was sure as hell was going to make short work of them.

Meldom felt a small comfort from the hand that touched his shoulder and replied "Maybe not" smiling underneath his mask not that Kai could he as he nods.
He switched back to his old demeanor "Shutdown may cause collectors to come out and see whats wrong, also digsite probably communicating with them he turned to Shala "Generator shutdown will cause turrets to go offline, output of turrets probably improved to take the load of whatever they did to them" he paused for a second "Be ready"

Eric was alone inside the turret, having given permission to River to join the others below after she expressed concern about their needing coverage much closer to the site.
"Can't let you guys have all the fun..." he quipped to himself, glancing over at the prisoner still bound and unconcious in the corner. He then tapped some buttons on the control console and ran a diagnostic and ammo check.
Resindra was heard to say "Could someone aim the turret at the outpost right about now? It's going to take a while to clear this place, they'll probably alert the others."
Checks complete, he keyed his helmet radio.
"Momentita, senorita." Eric switched over channels.
"Hey Murdach, you there? How we doin?" Eric checked over the latest updates from Esteban's scans. "We're still showin twenty-five targets at the command post. If you're up for flushin' em out, I can pound 'em from above - whatdaya say?"

A smile spread over the pilots face as he opened the channel to reply. Despiet his mechs damage he wasn't out of this yet. "ay mah legs isnae respondin' an' aam doon tae a half streght shields, but ah can still gie them.."
With the flick of a switch his mechs legs dug slightly into the grey earth as his particle cannon steadied and began scanning for targets. " In position ready tae brin' th' thunder." He said into the comms as he kept his eyes on the target scanner. Come on poke your heads out he thought to himself as his finger hovered above the trigger.

Cruendi'has noted the other two mecs in the dig site sticking together, leaving him the third wheel. Okay, he thought to himself as Raesindra and Maelstrom went to work. Maybe you jumped the gun a little bit, here. Just play it off cool and-- Moving from cover to cover, Cruendi'has found himself face to face with one particularly angry looking Collector. Or as angry as a Batarian could interpret of a completely foreign being. The creature raised its weapon and began to unload on Cruendi'has. "Son of a..." Instinctively, he activated the enforcement gauntlet on his omnitool and laid into the Collector's side. The insectoid fell to its knees, its chitin plating cracked from the heavy blow. Cruendi'has smiled satisfactorily as he lifted the barrel of his shotgun up. His smile faded when the alien desperately retaliated, charging at Cruendi'has. With no need to concern himself of the Collector's condition, the Batarian coolly overloaded what remained of his sheilds. As the opponent made contact with Cruendi'has, it found itself sliced across its arms and midsection. Had there been an atmosphere, a animal-like scream would've been heard. As it was, the only sound Cruendi'has picked up was his own breathing and the final THUD of his own shotgun going off.

The turret rumbled to life and swiveled its barrels down to point at the command post. The tergeting computer confirmed a target lock and a shell loaded to fire.
"In position ready tae brin' th' thunder." radioed Murdach.
"Alright stand by, everybody," said Eric, flexing his fingers over the Fire button. Knock, knock ya little cockroaches...
"Fire in the hoooold!"
The barrels flashed brightly, hurtling a shell at the top of the command post, creating a plume of dust and shaking the ground upon impact. The structure buckled slightly but still held. The computer indicated another shell was loaded up.
"Fire in the hold!"
Another hit squarely on the top of the command post. Cracks began to form on the roof.
"C'mon guys, someone's knocking," chided Eric "Be darlins and answer the door!" A second later the mercenary was obliged as a light appeared and widened at the entrance to the command post.
"Here they come, Murdach! Lock 'n load!"
Eric aimed his turret just past the entrance to the command post but still a safe enough distance from the team's mech driver. The first group of five Collectors spotted the mech and fired on it while closing in. Eric sent another volley right into their midst scattering flakes of dirt, flesh and blood about the ground.
Eric taunted the enemy from his console. "Ho-hooooo-yeah! That ring yer bell?" Target indicators showed more Collectors emerging. Eric checked the breach monitor; a new shell had not loaded yet.
"Crap! Murdach!" he signaled upon looking at the targeting screen again "Seven more inbound and I'm still reloadin'. See if you can air 'em out!"

Esteban joined in with the Quarian, killing the power with frightening ease. Every generator within the Outpost died at once. He tensed up, waiting to see what would happen....

Ten Collectors charge out of entrance, throwing grenades and firing their rifles. The grenades fly out in a spread formation. The Collectors are trying to drive anyone who is in front of the entrance away. - Anyone who is by the entrance will be getting hit, either by the grenade blast or from a spray of the assault rifle. It will either damage your shields or armor. Not enough to seriously damage it, as the assault isn't directly as your character. It just happened to hit because of where your character is at.

Shala was glad she had taken cover behind some rocks as she saw the Collectors charge out, firing their rifles. There were some explosions as well, and she wondered if it was them or her crew that caused them.
She realized it really didn't matter as she hadn't been hit. She tapped the command to summon another combat drone and it charged the horde, spewing flames at any enemy in range. One of them fell, apparently writhing in pain, yet all she think about was if there was some way to make the drone fire rockets and flames rather than one or the other.

If there had been air on the asteroid the sound would have been deafening as Thor's guns opened fire. Two collectors despaired into oblivion as the particle cannon ripped through there shields. The mech's smaller hull mounted guns starting ripping through there shields causing the remained to drop into cover. The where slowly making there way round trying to flank the merchs. " Someain watch th' reit flenk thaur tryin' tae gie aroond us." Murchadh yelled into the comms as another collector despaired under the firepower from his mechs guns.
