This guide's scope is limited to people, places, objects, and etc. that can be found in the chapters of Casualty's Cost but not in the rest of Mass Effect canon. It does not extend to the Character Stories section. I hope everyone finds this a useful resource, and I will do my best to keep it updated with current information.
Adele Adams- A human female who serves as mechanical systems expert on the Valiant.
Andrei'Xen vas Nedas- A quarian male and sentinel, Andrei'Xen was an AI researcher who briefly featured in the game, never participating in a single mission.
Anelya Cysendra- An asari twin, sharing an innate telepathic bond with her twin. She is pursuing a career as a Consort outside of asari space. She is reserved, spiritual, and technically-minded. Both she and her sister were rescued from the pirate ship encountered in-route to the Collector base mission and have decided to stay on the Valiant to explore different races through interaction with the ship's crew.
Arcturus Tilo- A turian male infiltrator. He used Light Phantom armor, a M-90 Idra sniper rifle, M-77 Paladin pistol, and a traditional turian military knife. This featured in the chapters leading up to the Barce mission but never saw combat.
Artacus Kalmavius- A male turian trained as a Cabal. His weapons included a Brawler pistol, Avalanche shotgun, Punisher sniper rifle, and Cabal gauntlets. Artacus featured late in the Barce mission and until the introduction of Morgan Bryn, Artacus was left behind for making material threats against Eric Lysander when he received a forged video implicating Eric Lysander in a hit of a prominent turian politician.
Asa- Iskra Narei's VI and personal assistant. Known to help with tasks around the lab and to look after Iskra's health.
Barce- A moon of Ploba's without any atmosphere and the site of the team's first mission. A functional Nithian military base was discovered there, along with what are supposed to be functional VI and AI systems as well as larval Nithians. The base contains advanced technology. The Collectors attempted to take control of this base after it was discovered by Esteban Bridges' company, but they were ultimately repelled by Mister Bridges' forces.
Benewan- A drell male who died of a terminal illness the night before the Esteban Bridges' initial meeting with his mercenary team. He was a close personal friend to Corwin Havens, Iskra Narei, and River Havens. His death had a profound impact on each of them.
Bon- Joe Fisher's VI. Helps manage his armor and weapons in combat situations. It possesses a significant emulated personality.
Charlene Donnelly- A human female who serves as chief engineer of the Valiant.
Chris Daniels- A human male who serves as the propulsion systems engineer on the Valiant.
Corwin Havens- A human male and "father" of River Havens. Corwin owns the Valiant and finances Esteban Bridges enterprises. He has experience as a mercenary and is quite proficient at combat.
Cruendi'has Tarmikos- A batarian male sentinel whose load-out includes a Batarian State Arms assault armor, a Batarian State Judgement pistol, a M-22 Eviscerator, an omni-tool with Enforcement Gauntlet ability, and a Submission Net. He features prominently in the Barce mission and the chapters leading up to it. A former slaver, Cruendi'has is more critical of his people's current system than others of his race.
Data- Esteban Bridges' VI. An advanced VI modeled after the Star Trek character Data. Maintains Bridges' suit functions, helps with hacking attempts, data analysis, and other technical operations.
Emily- A highly advanced Cerberus VI that has been reprogrammed to serve Maelstrom. Its emulated personality is extremely believable, at times capable of fooling others (including its owner) into considering that it might in fact be an AI (it is not). This personality is typically disabled during intense situations. It is fully integrated into the systems of the Vengeance, however it often maintains a link to Maelstrom's suit systems or custom headset. It is protected by multiple security VI's which make it virtually impossible to hack (without GM approval).
Enaya Cysendra- An asari twin, sharing an innate telepathic bond with her twin. She is pursuing a career as a Consort outside of asari space. She is spontaneous and artistic. Both she and her sister were rescued from the pirate ship encountered in-route to the Collector base mission and have decided to stay on the Valiant to explore different races through interaction with the ship's crew.
Eric Lysander- A human male and former Alliance N7 marine. His armor is heavily modified Kestrel armor, designed to handle working with high-explosives (and occasionally to have such devices stowed inconspicuously as part of the suit). Despite a proclivity for injecting humor into almost every situation, Eric Lysander keeps a perpetually cool head. He is a marksman and is an expert at demolitions and design and use of high explosives.
Esteban Bridges- A human male and businessman, Esteban Bridges is the owner of Bridges Unlimited Company and the employer of the mercenary squad that Casualty's Cost revolves around. He is an engineer in combat, sporting a custom set of Duelist armor, a M-5 Phalanx, an M-99 Saber, M-4 Shuriken, and his advanced VI, Data. Though he takes active part in missions, he prefers to hire proven, capable men to lead rather than doing so himself, allowing him to focus on the tasks he is best suited for. After his company's dig-site on Barce was attacked before news of their discovery was made public, Bridges found himself drawn into the investigation of how this occurred and inadvertently found himself delving into some of the galaxy's greater mysteries.
Iskra Narei- A drell female. Iskra was an infiltrator with biotic abilities. Her armor was custom, streamlined suit also meant to be able to pass as normal clothing. Her weapons included a Black Widow sniper rifle, a M-6 Carnifex pistol, and a concealed knife. Iskra possessed a doctorate in biology, and her ultimate goal was the restoration of the drell homeworld. She was capable of practicing some combat medicine and was fluent enough in chemistry to formulate Dr. Solus' anti-seeker countermeasure. She had a personal assistant VI, Asa, and a pet varren, Parr. She was an original member of the RP, and her character was with the crew until just following the Collector base mission. It was revealed that during the course of the mission, she was suffering the effects of indoctrination, and she later went off on her own to commit suicide before she was completely lost to the process.
Joe Fischer- A human male and former Alliance N7 marine. He typically wears a T5-V Battlesuit and carries an N7 Typhoon and N7 Crusader. At other times, he wears Kestrel armor with an M-15 Vindicator and an M-6 Carnifex. Lone survivor of a mission that went bad and tormented by waking visions of a woman who blames him for her suicide. Joined the team in Chapter 7.
Jon Waggoner- A human male soldier who featured very briefly in the chapters leading up to the Barce mission but who never actually saw combat in the game.

Kyle Sinclair- A human male sentinel. This character made a brief appearance at the beginning of the game but went inactive prior to the Barce mission, never seeing combat.
Haraldus Krassius- A turian male, formerly a sergeant of the 26th Armiger Legion. One of only two prisoners successfully rescued in Chapter 11.
Maelstrom/Jonathan Hunt- A human male and former member of the Alliance marines. His original armor was a Cerberus prototype medium armor, but he later exchanged it for a heavily modified and customized set of Collector armor. Both versions are matte black, have a display showing a single eye and creepy smile on the faceplate, and are heavily interfaced with his ship's VI. Though his armory includes other weapons, he most typically uses a Cerberus-modified geth pulse rifle, Cerberus-modified geth plasma SMG, and a Collector SMG, as well as a variety of grenades. In combat, he typically uses unconventional biotics based on martial arts or used to launch explosives. He was once a Cerberus prisoner, and exterminating the organization is his life's goal. The only person outside Cerberus to know his real name is Eric Lysander.
Malik Torsin- A turian male first encountered by the group on the Collector Base in Chapter 11. Malik was freed by Iskra Narei and has an association of some sort with Morgan Bryn. Malik is an infiltrator who keeps a M77-Paladin and M-97 Viper.
Meldom Wake/"Silence"- A male salarian and former STG agent, he got the name Silence from decimating a planet's population to stop a security leak. His armor is a highly variable suit of adapted Kestrel armor, governed in part by an implant in his brain. His weapons include his omni-tool, omni-blades, M-11 Suppressor, M-97 Viper, and Collector SMG. He often uses his tactical cloak and incinerate abilities, and he is known to be proficient at hacking as well.
Morgan Bryn- A human female first encountered as a stow-away on the Valiant in Chapter 8. Morgan is a hacker, thief, and information broker. As such, she is highly skilled at interfacing with computer systems and manipulating files. After being discovered, she was able to reveal that a video implicating Eric Lysander in a brutal hit job was a forgery, and Esteban Bridges offered her a job.
Murchadh MacLeod- A human male mech driver. He also carried a Scimitar X shotgun not converted to the thermal clip system, though his true weapon is his massive mech, Thor. Murchadh joined during the Barce mission and continued until his mech was presumed lost in an explosion on the Collector base.
Parr- A pet varren brought onto the Valiant by Iskra Narei. The animal has a friendly and agreeable disposition at most times.
Resindra/Risendra Iregos- An asari sentinel, she had the unique ability to also use tactical cloak. Her armor is piecemeal, and she sports a combat drone named Axeia. Her weapons are an M-11 Suppressor and a modified Claymore. She featured briefly in the Barce mission and the chapters leading up to it.
River Havens- A human female and "daughter" of the mission financier, Corwin Havens, she was actually created as a Cerberus experiment to create the perfect biotic soldier. Iskra Narei is a family friend. She wears Standard Light Alliance Armor and uses an M-358 Talon, an M-92 Mantis, and Twin energy katanas. She is an adept but is able to use nova at great personal risk. She was injured in the mission on Barce and has not rejoined the crew since. She aspires to a life as a mercenary, though the mission on Barce was her first true mission.
Shala'Bekk vas Neema- A quarian female engineer. She sported an M-9 Tempest SMG and a Geth Plasma shotgun. The character featured very prominently in the Barce mission and the chapters leading up to it. After the mission, she went to work on the Citadel. For anyone wishing to have interactions with Shala'Bekk, contact Joe Fischer, who originally wrote this character.
Thomas Torrez- A human male formerly of the Alliance military. He is arrogant in regards to his skills but quite personable. He pilots the Valiant.
Valiant- A refurbished turian frigate owned by Corwin Havens but loaned to Esteban Bridges for use on multiple missions, in exchange for a share of the profits. While its systems are 10 years out of date for a turian military vessel, it is still considered quite respectable for a privately-owned ship and would hold up respectably to most mercenary craft.
Vanguard- A reaper encountered during Chapter 11, possessing numerous Collector units as well as the elcor known as Xenos. It was stated that he was observing organic resistance to reaper efforts and developing countermeasures and strategies to negate its effects.
Collector Possession- When possessing Collectors, he was shown to have abnormally powerful Shockwave and Dark Sphere abilities, and the GM post also listed Barrier and Charge abilities as well. He possessed formidable barriers and armor as well.
Xenos Posession- When possessing Xenos, the elcor was modified with a cannon made partially out of a dead krogan youth. This cannon fired a weapon that was partially biotic and partially plasma-based. It was capable of penetrating starship hulls, and it had a significant splash effect. The elcor-husk also displayed impressive biotic abilities, including a three-hundred and sixty degree Shockwave capable of throwing both inanimate objects and player characters meters into the air. It possessed impressive barriers and armor, though these were susceptible to slower projectiles, such as spears. When its armor plating is removed, a temporary interruption to its power systems is possible, allowing it to be destroyed.
Vengeance- A prototype Cerberus shuttle stolen by Maelstrom. It is equipped with stealth technology, two forward-facing anti-personnel emplacements, a forward-facing weapon of the Cain line (larger), and two turrets on the side. It is not heavily armored or shielded, and it is primarily meant as a drop-ship. Able to be used as a stand-alone vessel for mid-to-long range-missions, it is equipped with FTL and is larger than a Kodiak. Painted black.
Weryloc Karn- A krogan male vanguard. He carries a M-300 Claymore and a krogan battle hammer. He is more even-tempered than most krogan and able to take a good joke, though he still shares the race's lust for combat. A capable warrior with an impressive history as a mercenary but who is seen largely as an outsider by his own kind.
Xenos Xerrotzi- An elcor male and test subject of the Collectors encountered in Chapter 11. He saved Maelstrom and Meldom when he panicked and ran (which injured him severely), distracting the Collectors they were fighting. He was later possessed by Vanguard, at which point he took on a husk-like apperance. He came from the planet Ekuna, was a member of Tribe Precotzu, and was mated to Ecruzae.
Zuko- A Leviathanon, a reptile closely resembling a mythological European dragon, though lacking wings only a few feet in length. They have a high level of intelligence, the ability to scale sheer surfaces, and the ability to glide by extending their ribs and bones in their tail to turn their bodies into an airfoil. Maelstrom rescued it from the captain's quarters of the pirate ship the crew of the Vengeance fought in-route to the Collector base. It was extremely malnourished, and he has been nursing it back to health in his shuttle.
