Hey guys!
I want to join this rp but I figured that before I do anything, is there a kind of character you guys need?

Let's see. Eric Lysander= Human Soldier (demolitions expert) Esteban Bridges= Human Engineer Izahm Kanokah= Human Sentinel (closest thing I could think) Joe Fischer= Human Soldier (N7 Destroyer) Lekuhn Kroan= Drell Vanguard/Infiltrator Meldom Wake= Salarian Infiltrator (closest thing I could think given play style) Maelstrom= Human Vanguard Naetilia Bolanis= Turian Sentinel Weryloc Karn= Krogan Vanguard (with Warlord hammer- he hasn't posted in close to a month, so I'm not sure whether he's still with us) That was as much to get me straightened out as anything. In terms of race, we have 5 humans and 4 aliens, so another alien would probably be good. I don't think anyone would complain with having a second of any of the races (except the GM might want to keep us down to one Drell at a time, since they're supposed to be rare). Playable races that we're missing, though, are asari, quarian, batarian, and volus. Missing an asari is pretty big; they're a Council race and one of the most widespread races in the galaxy. Quarians add a lot of flavor to the game, so having one of them would be nice. Batarians are hard to play as, but our former member, Cruendi'has played by "grandest" set a wonderful groundwork if you'd like to see what he was doing. Volus could provide a bit more comic relief, and since we've seen very little of their culture in the games or in the RP, you'd probably have a lot of freedom. In terms of class, we have 1 engineer, 1.5 infiltrators (counting Lekuhn as half an infiltrator), 2 soldiers, 2 sentinels, and 2.5 vanguards (counting Lekuhn as half a vanguard). Again, I doubt anyone would mind you picking something that's already done. That said, we have no adept and only one engineer. So, an adept could be a very useful support character, but if we had to split the team into two like we did on the last mission, only one party could have someone really tech-handy with them at them moment. Given the stats from races and classes put together, there are a couple really obvious combos I think we're sorely missing. Asari or volus adept. Quarian engineer. A little more outside the box but very doable, batarian engineer. Just a few ideas. In the end, though, the best bet is to talk with the Game Master. He's the one who knows what the group is going in to, and he's the one who can probably help you best plan out what kind of character to make. He's also good about helping people set up balanced characters and making them think about how they'd fit into the world as a whole and not just our small little slice of it on the Valiant. Looking forward to playing with you

First off, welcome to the team.
Second, there's very little I can say that Maelstrom didn't. The only thing I would say is don't be afraid to think outside the box a little. For example, the Turian Sentinel is a medic rather than a soldier-type (good thing too, seeing as how we lost our previous medic).
I would also recommend that you pick a race and class that interests you, someone you can get excited about playing over the long haul.
But definitely talk with the GM first before you get in too deep with creating your character. He may suggest some changes to things that are a bit too much outside the box, but for the most part he's willing to work with us players.

Wow Maelstrom, thanks for the super detailed report that's definitely very useful. I've sent a message to the GM so we'll see what he says.
Thanks very much for the warm welcome guys. Outside the box tends to be my forte so I'll try not to disappoint. Also Nae, I'm definitely gonna go for a female don't worry you're not the only one anymore.

Hey your Royal Dutchessness, another bit of advice I can give: read the kick-ass "Game Resources" sub-board put together by Maelstrom. It is a rundown of all the major characters (PCs & NPCs) that have appeared in the game so far.

lol. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I'd love it if Shala would come back to the Valiant, but I know that's not going to happen.

Hey, maelstrom, Izahm is part infiltrator and part sentinel. He has a tactical cloak but doesn't wear it unless asked to or it's needed however only his heavy armor has the modified tech armor projectors. Not complaining just pointing something out.

Well, your dossier says that's he rarely uses it so that no one knows he has it, and his armor can only support one at a time. I mean, we're going up against large organizations. If it gets used, the cat's kind of out of the bag.
Also, nothing else about your character's powers is specific to an infiltrator rather than a sentinel or other class. Honestly, I figured we'd probably never see your tactical cloak in-game since that would be pretty much counter to what your dossier indicates.
I mentioned it with Lekuhn because it's a regular part of his character that will be used quite frequently (I've talked with him extensively about his character and its psychology and combat style).
I didn't mean to step on any toes. I just didn't see the point in mentioning it, since everything you wrote seems counter to it being used outside character stories, which means it wouldn't affect the power build/makeup of the team.

Not stepping on any toes and his ability to blend into the background and observe things all while remaining anonymous makes him partially good at infiltration and when he does use the cloak it's usually in conjunction with his modified Widow so he's rarely seen by his enemies using it but any of his allies knows he has it. Also his combat style so far has been more sentinel but once I finish the Shadow Arc his infiltrator techniques will show. Although I can see how he seems more sentinel in general so I can roll with the sentinel classification just wanted to point out he knows a few infiltrator techniques and can perform infiltrator type activities though not as well as a full blown infiltrator.
