“Our rovin’ reporter here says he’s got a contact in C-Sec who can delay any alarms in the docking bay,” Eric suggested in reference to Izahm. “It’d be good to have the law on our side to keep our ship from gettin' impounded. Maybe he’d be inclined to cooperate with us if we could guarantee 'im a minimum o'casualties, perps included. Keepin’ ‘em breathin’ might also help us out in case they were actin’ on someone’s orders…”

Joe nodded.
"Good point, glad I thought of it," he said.

"Immediately," Izahm replied, "I have hom on speed dial as the saying goes. Of course the aftermath will require some explaining which I will leave that to our employer," he sips at his drink taking out his Butterfly knife again then he starts absentmindedly opening and closing it.

Lekuhn was happy that his suggestion had sparked conversation and increased neuronal activity in his counterparts. He remained silent and let thoughts unfold before him, cataloging them into the forever that was his mind. He especially liked the fact that joe spoke about the bottom line when it came to the underlying motives of the assassins.
“If there’s no contract, then that means they didn’t do it for money,” he had said. “And if an assassin isn’t coming after you for the money, then it means they’re doing it for a cause.” he said
But what cause? thought the Drell.
Whatever it is, they wanted these mercs alive. All were caught off guard and most survived. These were professionals. They kill when they mean to and can easily dispatch a target that is off guard.
The plan proposed by Joe was solid. It would work if everyone kept their heads together, but...
Why didn't they just kill them? Why would they want them alive?
Lekuhn's gut cramped a bit, telling him "Keep your eyes open."
