I don't really talk about it, because I know I don't have the time, but I do have some RP ideas I'd be interested in doing with folks once this one is done (hopefully a LOOOOONG way down the road).
Stargate: I'd love to run a Stargate story that gets back to what made the series great (not the emo-Voyager rip-off that was Universe). One idea I've had regards a race of Ancients or of Asgard that refused to die with the rest of their people and radically altered themselves in order to survive. Another (and, those who know Stargate know these don't have to be mutually exclusive) involves Replicators beyond the edges of what was able to be reached by the weapon at Dakara. My final idea has to do with an evolution occurring within the Wraith, as well as their possible infestation by the Goa'uld.
Sword of Truth: This would be based on Terry Goodkind's amazing book series. If you haven't read it, I'd really recommend it. It's one of my favorite series. I have two different ideas for how to do an RP of this one, but they would be mutually exclusive.
The first involves an ancient war between Wizards 2,000 years or more before the books he's writing. The basic end of the war is known, but it's so far back that there aren't a lot of specifics, so we could really play around and keep things true to the series.
The second would involve a war in the future, though before the events involving The Law of Nines. Rather than dealing with a Dream Walker, this one would probably deal more directly with a war originating with a tear in the Viel between the worlds of life and of death, with the main antagonist being the Keeper of the Dead. No, it would not end up like the corny TV series.
Star Wars: Especially with how much of the series is no longer canon, this frees up some room to play with. Again, I have two ideas.
The first involves an adventure placed significantly in the future, at a time when the galaxy's resources are starting to grow scarcer. Of course, what do people do? Waste them on massive factional wars. By this point, there would be a central faction led by Jedi trying to hold things together, and there would be many factions of Sith, non-aligned, and non-sensitives. The members of this RP would be trying to dig up long-lost knowledge from many sources for two reasons. One, an prophecy of old has come to the surface and has been reverberating throughout the nightmares of Jedi and Sith alike- the galaxy is going to collapse, soon. Two, a means of escaping the galaxy which was worked on by one great race after another, but always in secret.
The second involves a group of Jedi padawans who escaped Order 66 and flee out past the Outer Rim. One of them, who was almost a Jedi Knight himself, leads the rest down a path of being neutral to the Force, as they take up the protection of a small, fledgling coalition of systems struggling to survive and promote unity in the region. The threat would come in the form of a secret apprentice of Dooku, who begins conquering neighboring systems and trying to set up her own Sith Empire.
There are other ideas too, but they're nowhere near as coherent. A couple are ideas for Star Trek RPs with pretty good stories, but I haven't figured out how to make them work well for an RP. The way everyone is kind of confined to their own station and bound in the command structure seems like it would make the game a lot more fun for some than others (like the people who get to be captain or tactical officer), and that just doesn't seem fair.
Any of these sound interesting to anyone? Like I said, it would be a long time, probably years, before any of these would be open, but I'm curious to see which ones people find most appealing.
