BACKSTORY
FAMILY HISTORY
When she was 10, her parents developed a biotic amp that gave users unprecedented levels of power (her father died shortly after it was put on the market).
But when she was 20, it was revealed that a majority of users suffered from previously undiscovered side effects. The backlash against her family was enormous; after her mother depleted the family’s finances making reparations, she joined the Justicars as a way to atone for her actions.
Her sister Veyarika was one of the amp’s first users, and she suffered severe side effects to the point she had to be institutionalized (the prognosis for a full recovery is bleak at best); a good chunk of Geneenh’s income goes towards her sister’s care.
PERSONAL HISTORY
As for herself, she demonstrated technical aptitude at an early age; by the time she was 5, she was already taking apart the computers in her home to see how they worked (and often improving them).
Due to her family’s wealth, she was able to attend one of Thessia’s best schools, but when the biotic amp scandal broke and her mother spent the family fortune, she could no longer afford to attend the school and thus had to leave--not that she would have been allowed to attend anyway.
Life since then has been difficult to say the least. Asari have long memories, and so she is unable to get work with any reputable asari-owned company, so she often works for companies managed by other races, whose concern seems more about her present performance than her family’s past.
PERSONALITY
Geneenh is carrying over two centuries' worth of emotional baggage. Her mother spent the entire family's fortune making reparations and setting up care for her sister, leaving her to fend for herself and causing a lot of built-up resentment on her part. They stayed in touch for a while, but her mother's devotion to her new calling strained their relationship to the point where they have not spoken in over 50 years.
Other asari assumed she was somehow involved in the production of the amp and thus treated her poorly. She tried protesting her innocence at first, but after 20 years of receiving nothing but scorn at her claims, she has become bitter and aloof towards her people since then.
The only thing that brings her any peace is listening to music and dancing, though she likes to dance alone. Anyone who assumes she is a professional dancer and nothing more will quickly learn the folly of their assumption.
