Name: Arcus, AKA “Madknife”
True Name: Unknown
Race: Turian
Gender: Male
Age: Early 40’s, estimated
Height: 6’3”
Eye Color: Dark blue
Place of Birth: Unknown
Occupation: Mercenary
Combat Class: Cabal Vanguard, modified
Appearance:
Dark, charcoal grey skin. Various scarring present over entire body. Notable scars include slash marks across right side of face matching turian claw patterns, and two broken cranial horns. Colonial face tattoo present, red in color. Tattoo pattern does not match that of any known turian colony. Tattoos of similar design are also present on torso and arms.
Profile:
Nothing is known of Arcus prior to his appearance as a mercenary thirteen years ago. He first appeared taking solo contracts on Omega, more as a hired thug than as a true mercenary. He quickly made a name for himself by killing a number of Eclipse mercenaries when the organization took exception to his “unlicensed” business model and sent a hit squad to eliminate him. After dispatching the team, Arcus then sought out and killed the Eclipse officer that issued the order. It was not so much the number of deaths or the rank of those killed that was noteworthy, but the condition in which the bodies were found that launched Arcus on his way to notoriety.
To date, Arcus has never had permanent affiliation with any organized mercenary group, although he has worked individual contracts with select organizations and has cooperatively joined small teams for relatively short periods.
As Arcus continued to build his reputation as a mercenary, he began to specialize in violent contracts. He is now known as a ruthless killer and refuses work he deems not to have a sufficient likelihood for close combat. He also declines most, but not all, assassination contracts.
Arcus is a talented biotic, particularly for a turian, who specializes in close quarters combat. He utilizes powerful biotic barriers, relying on them to compensate for his prefered use of extremely lightweight armors. He uses a biotic charge to quickly engage a target at hand-to-hand range, and a biotic push to create distance if the odds leave his favor.
A master of the blade, Arcus uses knives to strike at vital organs, blood vessels, tendons, and muscle groups in order to to bring down an opponent with lethal efficiency. He favors physical blades over omni-blades ands prides himself in the care and honing of his collection. His omnitool has multiple blade profiles programmed, and he will transition to them when targeting more heavily armored areas.
As deadly as Arcus is at close range, his skill at long range is not overly exceptional. While he is competent and exhibits tactical behavior and weapons handling indicative of elite turian military training, he is merely an adequate marksman. Arcus utilizes a turian rifle modified with a 3-round burst and semi-automatic firing mode for added aiming stability.
It should be noted that Arcus is believed to be mentally unstable. However, it should be equally noted that Arcus’ mental state does not have a history of interference with his ability to complete contracts with satisfactory results, as shown by his success over the course of many years as a mercenary specializing in high risk operations.
Arcus’ mental instability, combined with his unparalleled skill with a blade, has earned him the nickname, “Madknife” in certain circles. Though he acknowledges this moniker, he does not himself use it.
Abilities:
Strong biotic barrier ability.
Biotic Charge, used primarily, though not exclusively, without impact.
Biotic push.
Close quarters, knife combat expert.
Weapons:
Assorted knives, including blade styles from multiple galactic species. Edges are honed to the molecular level.
Omniblade with multiple programed blade profiles.
Turian Phaeston rifle, modified for burst and semi-automatic firing modes.
Equipment:
Heavily modified ultra light armor with minimal ablatives. More resembles standard clothing than armor but still contains VI controlled interfaces, kinetic shielding, and medical subsystems.
