Hello Everyone,
As some of you may know, depending on how much of a completionist you were with ME: Andromeda, part of the reason for the Andromeda Initiative was to flee the undefined but clearly looming threat that was the Reapers, and they even picked up distress calls from the start of the Reaper War as they were nearing the boarders of our galaxy. Does anyone want to tie in any of our missions to the Andromeda Initiative, be it an interaction with the elder Ryder, investigating the monumental endeavor, or perhaps (at some point) protecting the fleeing convoy from shadowy forces seeking their capture or destruction?
There are still a lot of unknowns about the Andromeda Initiative, and I think there's a definite sequel planned, so I'm a little hesitant to write in anything that could later be proved false, but I think we've done a good job of keeping to the periphery of Mass Effect so far while also being involved in big events. Even as a GM, this is something that I know can hit close enough to home that some players might be uncomfortable. For that reason, I'm opening up a poll to see if people want to include the Andromeda Initiative in some capacity. After all, it was a monumental endeavor that much of the galaxy must have known about (even if it never made it to completely public knowledge).
Sincerely, Co-GM Maelstrom

*** SPOILERS INCLUDED ***
I am interested in getting peripherally involved with the Initiative, though if we do go forward I think we should do our best to avoid the main canon as we have with Mass Effect in the Milky Way. Therefore I say we should avoid any direct interactions with anyone in the Initiative. I expect with Ryder's views on certain topics he may not be a popular guy with our N7s on the team, but if we avoid any mention of SAM we could possibly pull it off.
Of all the story ideas Maelstrom mentioned I like most the idea of pulling a rearguard action mission.

If it's done right (ie. no direct interaction with Andromeda's main cast) it can work.
Since Ryder Sr. didn't get much... shall we say, screen time, maybe a side mission featuring him as a way of giving the character his due.
