Eric has references to shepard , Dukevega has a reference to Tali, i for one love this as it is with the lore and has no real impact, its just a mention or a "I met him once"
I would like to know your opinions on this, i mean your character won't know everyone shepard had on his crew but if it has backstory, Eric gave a good reason and mention to why his character knows shepard, thus if your character is of a specific race you may have run into them, maybe without even knowing.
Example would be a krogan knowing Wrex or wreav as he was in the clan or in a warring clan, Human mercenary might know or heard of zaeed.
Thoughts on this ?

I have similar feelings on this, but as a check to myself, I generally run it by the GM before putting it in a post. If you've read the story I put up about our pilot, you'll see I put him in flight school with Joker. The reason I think checking with the GM is such a good thing is that sometimes we get so caught up in our own good ideas that we'll forget continuity issues and the like.
I also think that it has to have a bit with your character's backstory. If you're making a character who's mostly lived as a criminal on Omega, it wouldn't make a lot of sense for you to have known Navigator Presley. By the same token, if your character had a C-Sec background, even if there were 200,000 C-Sec officers, I don't think it's at all questionable for you to have had a run in or two with Garrus.

I think we discussed this before and if I recall correctly mentioning them was not a problem as we didn't say something like, "Oh yeah, Shepard was my long-lost brother," or something like that. I think as long as it is logical for someone to know (or know of) one of the main characters it is not a problem.
If I'm wrong someone please correct me.

I seem to remember something like that, but since I couldn't remember where or all the specifics, I didn't see any harm in reiterating my opinion.
