Name: River (River Havens)
Race: Human
Sex: Female
Age: 18
Height: 5'9
Weight: 120
Build: Slender
Eyes: Dark Brown
Hair: Black
Occupation: Mercenary
Class: Adapt
Weapons:
M-358 Talon - A sort-of "graduation" gift given to her by her father when she first ventured into the field on her own. Even though she had asked from for a M-300 Claymore, her father refused due to the weapon's powerful kickback.
M-92 Mantis - Despite not being the best sniper, River insists on continue training with the weapon. She was once quoted to say to her father, "It's easier to kill her enemy from a distance than having to look them in the eye as they die."
Twin Energy katanas: Similar weapons used with Cerberus Phantoms. After an encounter with two Cerberus assassins, River stole their weapons and began training with them. They are her preferred weapon of choice.
Armor:
Standard Light Alliance Armor - This was no River's choice' but more her protective father. Although the latest model and the most preferred among Alliance soldiers, River would've more wanted armor similarly used by Phantoms or Nemesis'. However, acquiring such armor hasn't been not only difficult but expensive.
Powers:
Pull and Throw: Excellent use in close combat situations.
Cluster Grenade: A technique River perfected at a young age
Shockwave: Another excellent use for when it comes to close combat situations.
Nova: Under normal circumstances, as an Adapt, having this ability should not even be possible. Having due to the experiments preformed on River by Cerberus as well as the experimental L6 implant, River has managed to develop this talent. It is believed with proper training, it is possible for her to develop additional talents. However, it is at the cost of possible brain damage and death. Even with this new ability, there is a tremendous risk. At the request of her father, River rarely uses this technique.
History:
River's story began in a rather unconventional way.
She was born as a test-tube baby as part of an experimental project developed by the pro-human terrorist group Cerberus in hopes of recreating the success from a previous experimental known as "Subject Zero." Of a group of twenty children born into the project, River was the only one to survive past the stage of infancy.
From the time that she could walk, River was trained in every form of combat including weapons training and biotic development. Her talents in the field of biotics awarded her the attention of Cerberus' head, The Illusive Man. After seeing her impressive record, he ordered that River (who, at the time, was just six-years-old) be fitted with an experimental implant. The L6 implant was new design and far more advanced that the previous L5 models, but also highly unpredicable as no biotic had been ever fitted with it before.
River was the first to receive it. Although the actual implatation was a success, training with it proved to be a difficult matter altogether. River's biotic became stronger and much more violitale than anyone could've predicted. Her moods and personality were also affected, causing River to become distant and quick to anger when confronted with uncomfortable situations. In seeing that it was becoming harder and harder to train River, The Illusive Man order the project be scrapped and all evidence be destroyed. This included River as well.
There is little record of what took place soon after the extermination orders were given. However, what it known is that most of the scientists and researchers who were involved with the project were killed and all records were lost. When Cerberus teams went to salvage what evidence they could, they discovered that River was nowhere to be found among the wreckage. Since that time, Cerberus agents had been on the look out for any signs of River with orders to kill her on sight.
